Building Your Wiki Pages

1. Create your pages by clicking on New Page in the upper left hand corner. Name your pages wisely. Your page names should make sense to your viewers.
2. Be sure to meet all page requirements. You must create at least 5 pages for the portfolio.
3. Homepage Advice: I suggest you build your other pages and then develop your homepage. Your homepage is influenced by the content of your other pages. I would put something general on your homepage for now, then develop it later, after you have begun to develop your other pages.
4. Add headings to your pages. Make creative headings or add images to the top of your page to add interest. The heading should do two things: tell the viewer what is on the page and attract the viewer's eye.
5. Begin adding content to your pages. You may want to make a table and add the thumbnail photos to the table. This will help organize the thumbnails. To make a table, select on table on the Editor strip. Fill out the amount of columns and rows. Select Insert Table. The table may start off very small. Once you insert your photos, the table with expand.

6. To add a photo, click on File. Under insert files, click upload files. Find your folder of thumbnails and upload the photos. Double click on the photo you want to add.
7. All thumbnails need to have a description below it. You can add captions in the dialogue box that appears when you select on the photo.
8. To change the font size and color, select the text you want to change, select on the T on the Editor strip. Be careful with the fonts. Choose one and stick with it. Too many fonts can be hard to read. Also, make sure you have good contrast between your text and the background.
