Car: Toyota

Product
The product is easy to see and determine. It is a standard side-view of a car. Since it is the only image in the ad, it holds a lot of visual weight. The car itself is black which contrasts well with the white background. The product is presented in a fairly common, uneventful fashion.
Text
The top text "Pull Some Gees" is very dominant because of the size of the text itself. Since it takes up about half of the ad space, I would say that the text is very important in this ad. There is other text below the car, giving the viewer information about the actual product (Honda CRX Si). While is it not as dominant, it is still easy to read.

Imagery
The really is not any interesting imagery in this ad. The background is white, the car is black with a shadow under the car. The imagery does not illustrate what the ad wants the viewer to understand about the car, which is that is had a lot of power, since the car is not moving.

Slogan
"Pull some gees" is a good slogan and could easily be illustrated in a car advertisement. Unfortunately the imagery does not illustrate the slogan.

Mood
There is not really any dominant mood of the ad. It is fairly common, even, or boring. The lack of interesting imagery and color add to this overall feeling.

Overall
The ad does not successfully grabs the viewer's attention. It does not illustrate what the car company wants us to believe about the car since is it standing still. It is boring and uninteresting with very little thought put into the overall presentation of the product.
Product
The product is placed on the end of a crane, as if it is a demolition ball. The product is placed in the center of the ad and is easy to see. It is placed at 3/4 view, adding a little bit of interest to the product.

Text
The only text that is in the ad is very small in the lower right hand quarter. The toyata symbol is also included with the text. Considering the amount of space that is available, the text should be increasing in size so the viewer can read "The New Hilux Invincible" easier.

Imagery
The imagery, with the car as the demolition ball, is illustrating that the Hilux is invicinble. It is showing that it is so durable, it can knock down buildings. The imagery is interesting and is telling the viewer something about the product. The imagery is supposed to entice viewers to buy it because it is so strong.

Slogan
There really isn't a slogan, however "invincible" seems to be key to the promotion of the product.

Mood
The fact that the truck is destroying the building almost adds humor to the ad. Although it is a serious scene, the fact that it could never happen or be true is the source of the humor.

Overall
This ad successfully grabs the viewer's attention. The interesting imagery draws the viewer in. The viewer wants to know what type of car is strong enough to knock down a building. Perhaps the weakest area of the ad is the text size. Increasing the text would help the viewer and the ad.
