Photography
Course Overview
Photography is a second year visual arts course offered at A.C. Flora. In order to enroll in Photography, you must have taken and passed Art Foundation prior to enrolling. The course focuses on Photography concepts and techniques as well as digital photography media and software. Basic computer knowledge is very beneficial because all of the course work is completed using various software programs and tools. Students will be using Adobe Photoshop Elements, MovieMaker, PowerPoint to name a few, to create various presentations and products. Students will also create their own wiki portfolio on wikispaces.com displaying their work for the course.

Units & Projects
The Units and Projects page includes all the unit/project requirements. You can find handouts on the various requirements for the project as well as any worksheets and readings that you will have to complete for the unit. Since every unit builds upon the other, you will have to learn how to do different techniques and processess using different software programs. Handouts on these processes can be found on this page as well. There are also links to video demonstrations on all the various techniques and processes for the unit.

Adobe Photoshop
The Adobe Photoshop page includes all the demonstration videos on various processes and techniques accomplished in Adobe Photoshop. There are also printable handouts of the processes as well.

Prezi
The Prezi page includes all the information needed to create the Prezi for Elements Unit. There are various demonstration videos illustrating the processes and steps. You will also find a rubric for the presentation and well as handouts explains the steps and processes that can be printed.

Wiki Information
The Wiki Information page includes all the information needed for the wiki portfolio. You will find demonstration videos for wikispaces. There are also printable handouts with the written directions of the steps and processes. You will also find project requirements and rubrics that can be printed as well. Links to portfolio examples, such as the teacher's portfolio and student portfolio from last year are also included.

iMovie
This page includes information about using iMovie. There are various video demonstrations as well as handouts of the processes and steps to creating a video. View the information on how to accomplish techniques such as adding and editing music & video, adding photos, effects and transitions.

Free Software
You are not required to purchase Adobe Photoshop for this course. There are a few free photo editing options available that are similar to Adobe Photoshop, such as Gimp, Sumo Paint, and Pixlr. You may also want to edit music for your MovieMaker project. You can use the free program Audacity to edit and combine mp3s. The Free Software page includes all the information you will need for downloading and using the free software programs.
